Floorboard Stool

Prompt: Using a poplar floorboard,  explore rectilinear forms and design a stool with 4 intersecting planes. Demonstrate rudimentary functionality and hierarchical structure of planar surfaces.

With the material limit on this project, I knew I wanted to make something with childlike proportions. The finished stool is only 10 inches tall, making it an appropriate stepping size, foot rest or child's chair.

The finished stool was fabricated, as part of the project by one of my lovely classmates Elin Zhou.
